  Young Engineers

MISSION: The Young Engineer’s Council (YEC) of the New Mexico Society of Professional Engineers is a statewide committee of engineering professionals 35 and under dedicated to the Society’s Vision of becoming "the premier New Mexican Society providing leadership in advancing engineering professionalism" through:

  • Mentoring at the university level
  • Coordinating The Order of the Engineer ceremony
  • Assisting with the transition from student to young professional
  • Encouraging all qualified young engineers to become registered
  • Providing a forum in which young engineers can voice concerns on issues important to them and facilitating solutions to those issues
  • Acting as the liaison between the young members at-large and the State Society Board
  • Organizing social events to provide opportunities for networking and to cultivate relationships within the young engineering community.
